We are TEZCAT REAL: Brian Johnson Hoffmann and ChrystCha Cat (Johnson Hoffmann) form the core of this project, which at the time being is a studio band that intends to become a live band. We hire session players that we find waiting outside of Home Depot.

By the way, it is pronounced “Tezcat RayAL” – the latin “real”, meaning “royal”. Most songs are 432 hz = A - who does that? We do, because of the COSMIC SEQUENCE and mathemagical realities of the natural universe.

We named our cat Tezcatlipoca many years ago because we believed he chose this name for himself when sitting on a paragraph of a book I, Brian, was reading and he was mewing to get my attention...days after we told him he could pick what name he wants, and by golly he did that shit.

He was still small enough to fit in the palm of my hand at that point, he was Tezcat for short after that - a black maine coon with a silver, smoky neck and belly...our little smoking obsidian jaguar nagual.

He traveled everywhere with us, even took him hiking at Yosemite, everyone loved Tezcat...and so Tezcat Real was born.Then we began to research what Tezcat means relative to Tezcatlipoca, an Aztec deity......the most beautiful warrior...and things got heavy. We came up with this heavy, profound band name without any pretensions to being profound or esoteric at all...it was a joke about naming a band after Tezcat, the coolest cat in the world.

This band name was realized to be symbolic of anything which could be considered an "obsidian scrying mirror", such as the BLACK MIRROR which you are currently involved with - but WE are the ROYAL mirror.

​

If a Rock Star is the Full Moon (think about it), the New Moon very well could be a "smoking obsidian mirror" and an "anti-rock star", especially on a partly cloudy night. Tezcat Real is a Rock Star AND the dark side of the moon at the same time. We are going to get so much ass.
